Miami Unit Reports a Landing

MIAMI, April 6 (UP)- Cuban rebel leaders here said today they just had landed “a great number of men” in Oriente Province.

Two members of the Castro unit gave out a statement saying: “Pedro Miret has just landed in the coasts of the ORiente Province commanding a great number of men, all heavily armed.” It identifies Miret as “one of the heroes of the Moncada Barrack’s assault in 1953" in Havana from which Señor Castro’s 26th of July Movement takes its name.

Federal agents and Sheriff’s deputies during the day seized a truck loaded with arms and ammunition valued at $50,000. The truck had been under surveillance since Friday. No one appeared to claim it a d no arrests were made.
