New cards to be issued for frequent crossers

SHERYL KORNMAN

U.S. Customs and Border Protection will issue new cards in July to members of its border crossing rapid inspection program.
The cards give frequent legal border crossers expedited border crossing at land ports of entry, including Nogales.
The new SENTRI - Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection - cards will have enhanced security features.
Current cardholders must update their contact information this month online at https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov.
The federal agency said more than 165,000 individuals on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border are using SENTRI cards.
