Illegal migrant hit agent with rock, Border Patrol says

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was assaulted by an illegal immigrant Saturday near Arivaca Lake, the agency said.
According to a Border Patrol news release:

Patrolling agents encountered about 35 illegal immigrants near Arivaca Lake who tried to flee to Mexico. W hen agents chased the group, one man became aggressive.

Jacob Rodriguez-Hernandez, 25, of Mexico hit an agent in the face with a rock. Rodriguez was subdued and arrested. Twenty-five immigrants were apprehended, and the rest fled to Mexico.

The agent was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Rodriguez is in federal custody, charged with using a dangerous weapon to intentionally and forcibly assault a federal agent engaged in official duties.
