U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno and Alvah H. Chapman Jr., former chairman of
Knight Ridder and current chairman of the Community Partnership for Homeless,
are among the professionals who will receive the Ellis Island Medal of Honor this
 weekend in New York.

The National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations, established in 1986, will pay
tribute to Reno, Chapman and others like New York Yankees manager Joe Torre.
The medal will be presented at an annual gala reception Saturday at Ellis Island.
