Cuba Seizes 13 Rebels
8 Others Killed--Dean of Bar Goes Into Exile

Special to The New York Times.

HAVANA, April 29--Rural guards have captured thirteen rebels in the district of Quemados de Pineda east of Pinar del Rio, capital of Pinar del Rio Province, a communiqué of Camp Columbia Army Headquarters said tonight.

Several machine guns, rifles and shotguns, as well as a small amount of ammunition, some uniforms and equipment, were seized from the rebels.  Those captured said five or six more youths were in the near-by Gramales hills.  They were being pursued, headquarters said.

Dr. Jose Miro Cardona, dean of the Havana Bar Association, Professor of Havana University and member of the board of directors of the Inter-American Bar Association, left Havana this afternoon for Mexico as a political refugee.

Eight rebels were killed and three soldiers wounded in a clash near Songo in northern Oriente Province, army headquarters said.
