HAVANA, Feb. 21—One person was killed and three were wounded at the bus station of Santiago de las Vegas, twenty miles from Havana, when a group of youths attempted to set fire to the station, it was reported today. One of the youths was killed in a gun battle with the police. Two bystanders were wounded. The other youths escaped in a speeding automobile.

A report from Trinidad said three youths were killed near the city in an encounter between a group of insurgents and Government troops. The army has sent reinforcements to that district, where about 200 youths have opened the so-called second front.

Political prisoners in various jails continued their hunger strike today. They were protesting over the action of the authorities in arresting persons freed by a court and returning them to jail

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, Feb. 21—President Luis Somaza said today at a press conference that Nicaragua could not and would not sell arms and ammunition that had been purchased from the United States for Continental defense.

He added that it was a question for Nicaragua as a sovereign state that had recognized the present Cuban Government as to whether or not Nicaragua would sell excess war material purchased elsewhere.
