Cuban Rebel Departs
Immigration Officials Permit Youth to Fly to Mexico

A 22-year-old Cuban rebel who was taken off a plane on Sept. 13 when a crowd of sympathizers at New York International Airport, protested his deportation to Cuba, flew to Mexico City last night.

A spokesman for the Immigration and Naturalization Service said that the rebel, Osvaldo Carbonell-Lora, had been granted permission to seek refuge in a country other than Cuba, where he had feared persecution.
