22 Cubans Freed Here
Cleared in Protest of Return of Revolutionary on Ship

Twenty-two of a group of thirty-one Cubans who were arrested last Dec. 20 during an anti-Batista demonstration here were cleared yesterday of charges of disorderly conduct.
During the protest at a downtown pier the Cubans tried to storm a ship to prevent the forced return to Cuba of a former sergeant who had taken part in an uprising at Cienfuegos.
The twenty-two were freed on the grounds of insufficient evidence.  The argued that they could not clearly understand the police demands.
Warrants were issued for the three who failed to appear.  Six others, charged with inciting to riot, where granted a postponement until Jan. 27 yesterday in Federal Court.  They were continued in bail of $500 each.
