Two Cuban Refugees Held as Extorters

Two leaders of a Cuba exile group were arrested today and charged with conspiring to extort money from other Cubans.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said Dr. Orlando Bosch Avila was being held in lieu of $15,000 bond at Hartford, Conn., after a hearing before a United States Commissioner here. The bureau said Marcelino Garcia Jimenez would be given a hearing in Miami tomorrow.

Dr. Bosch, 29 years old and Mr. Garcia 57, are officials of the Insurrectional Movement for Revolutionary Recovery, which has raided Cuba several times.

The bureau said a Federal grand jury in Miami had accused them in indictments Tuesday of trying to extort sums totaling $25,000 from Cubans in Coral Gables, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Clewiston.

The bureau said the two had been serving as coordinator general and chief of direction respectively of the movement at an office in Miami where both live.

Dr. Bosch was a Havana physician and Mr. Garcia a Havana building contractor before they went into exile.
