Jailers escort Lopez back to Miami

Convicted bomb maker Humberto Lopez, in whose name several terrorist bombings have been committed, is being returned to Dade County to await trial.

Lopez is being transported here under heavy security after Martin County officials complained his presence constitutes a potential danger to the public there.

Federal officials said Lopez would be held in a secret location in Miami until his trial in early November on charges that he jumped bond and fled the country.

Since Lopez' forced return from the Dominican Republic several weeks ago, three bombs have exploded near Dominican agencies and a fourth exploded near the Broward jail where he was held before his transfer to Martin County.
